Review of the American Marketing Association
I was nervous about investing $275 in membership fees to join the local chapter of the American Marketing Association, but after just a month I am already seeing good returns. We just had a networking event for the Puget Sound chapter in Washington and it was a great night of free wine and good conversations. Everyone was very welcoming and open to share advice and ideas. They are also very willing to share leads for job opportunities with their fellow marketers. The only drawback besides the price is that they are pretty light on the job postings. The best part of the deal are the $30 lunch seminars offered in Seattle at the beginning of each month. You can also attend all the events if you are not a member for a few extra dollars if you don't want to spend the hundreds to join.
