Trendwatching.com is a consumer research firm who publishes a free monthly report that is full of information about current consumer trends. This month they feature "8 Important Consumer Trends for 2008" , which describes trends like the premiumization of everything from 20 dollar water to fashionable toilet paper and people projecting their green ideals through consumption of eco-iconic brands. The only caveat is that the source of their analysis is through crowdsourcing, as they rely on a network of spotters all over the world rather than actual research. However, the report is a very good overview of some emerging global consumer trends.
